951,324. Seats. G. STRASSER. June 9, 1960 [June 9, 1959], No. 20359/60. Heading A4J. A chair has a seat part 1 connected at 5 to an angle lever 4 which is pivotally connected to the frame at 6. In the low chair position the front of the seat is supported on part 4a of the lever and the rear is supported on bar 8 while in the high position the front of the seat is supported by part 4b of the lever abutting against stop 7 and the rear is supported on bar 8a. The bar may be angularly adjustable and may be capable of locking the seat in the high position. The seat part 1 may have an extension 1b and the bracket 5 have a slot of corresponding length so that the seat may be slid forward to give the chair greater depth or in the case of a sofa or bench seat allow the high position to form a bed.
