In a detachable connector for conductors 1 which are insulated with solid material 13, a threaded metal sleeve 9 and threaded metal rings 11 provide the securing means, while each conductor end accommodates a pressure cone 4 which co-operates with a split contact sleeve 6 to provide the electrical connection. The pressure cones sit in bores 2 in the conductor ends and force is applied to them via pressure springs 3. The clamping force applied to the cones is transmitted by the metal rings 11 via annular springs 15 in the solid insulation 13. An elastic rubber ring 7 is provided between the solid insulation sections 13 and is held in position by two limit rings 8. To provide a conduotive connection between the metal earth coatings 18 on insulation 13, a polygonally bent contact spring 17 inserted in a groove 16 in each threaded metal ring 11 connects the coating to these rings, the connection being completed by sleeve 9.
