Abstract
1,111,931. Transistor amplifying circuits. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. 14 Sept., 1965 [17 Sept., 1964], No. 38102/64. Heading H3T. A circuit for producing a D.C. output current which remains proportional to an A.C. input signal despite variations in load impedance comprises a series regulator transistor 16 controlled by two further transistors 13, 14. Variation in A.C. input at 12 is rectified and fed via transistor 13, to produce a proportional current through transistor 16. Any variation in load across terminals 17, 18 varies the drive on transistor 14 to effect a rastering control on transistor 16 to maintain the output current proportional to the input signal. As shown the output current is proportional to input voltage, but the circuit may be modified for a current input by the inclusion of a resistor across the transformer, Fig. 2 (not shown).
