Abstract
990,309. Transistor amplifying circuits. UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. April 14, 1964 [May 1, 1963], No. 17276/63. Addition to 973,753. Heading H3T. A circuit for matching a high impedance signal source to a low impedance load comprises a field effect transistor having a feedback loop comprising two further transistors. As shown, signals at 2 are fed to the gate of a pchannel field effect transistor 1, the source electrode of which is coupled to an output terminal 5. A feedback path is provided from the drain to the source electrode via transistors 8, 11 and Zener diode 14 so that the source/ drain voltage is maintained constant. The voltage gain is substantially unity. Alternatively, an n-channel field effect transistor may replace the cathode follower shown in Fig. 1 of the parent Specification 973,753.
