Abstract
1,107,746. Electro-photographic development processes. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A. G. April 5, 1965 [April 7, 1964], No.14331/65. Heading G2H. In order to prevent atomized liquid particles, streaming from electrode 13, from depositing on grid electrode 2 or on the sheet contacting insulated side of grid electrode 1, in the absence of an electro-photographic charge image bearing sheet 3, a fan 5 produces a counter current of air to oppose the flow of the aerosol. Preferably, a carriage 9, carrying the atomizer electrode 13, supply of liquid 14 and absorbent rollers 8, is arranged to reciprocate in a path of travel which is perpendicular to the direction of movement of the sheet 3. Rollers 8 absorb the liquid deposited on the underside of grid 1, which is preferably lacquered on its sheet contacting side. Electrode 13 is connected to a high voltage source through a pointed metal rod 16 moving, without contact, over a fixed rail 17. A negative charge image on a zinc oxide coated paper may be developed with a positively charged aerosol.
