Abstract
PURPOSE:To obain a stable picture preventing a toner image from disappearing by providing a fine gap between a recording electrode and a recording body and attaching the electric charge generated by gap discharge to the other side of the recording body, thereby holding the toner. CONSTITUTION:A recording electrode 1 consisting of many needle electrodes and a counter electrode 2 forming a magnetic brush are provided facing to each other with a recording body 3 between. When the gap distance between the electrode 1 and the recording body 3 is set to (g) and a voltage V0 is applied between the electrode 1 and 2, a gap voltage Vg is generated, and when the voltage elevates to not smaller than the Paschen's gap discharge voltage, air gap discharge is generated, and an electric charge 7 attaches to the recording body 3 to hold the toner 5 on the opposite side. The surface of the recording body 3 contacting with the electrode 1 is formed unevenly by some appropriate means because a proper distance of the air gap discharge is 5-15mu. With this, the toner on the recording body 3 is held well by inverse charge and a stable picture can be obtained.
