Abstract
PURPOSE:To reject field-through and to make the operation stable, by electrostatically shielding between a floating electrode and a transfer electrode with an electode applied with DC voltage. CONSTITUTION:A floating electrode 44 is electrostatically shielded with a transfer electrode 42 against AC voltage with an electrode 43 supplied with a DC voltage from a DC power supply terminal 33, then the transient effect of the pulse voltage phi2 applied to the transfer electrode 42 is not almost given. Thus, the potential variance of the floating electrode 44 is caused due to the variance in the phi2 pulse, and the floating electrode 44 is always operated stably independently of the signal charges. Pulse voltages phi1, phi2, phi3 are applied to terminals 31, 32, 35, and at time t0, signal charges 60, 61 are present beneath the transfer electrode 38, 42, at time t1, charges are shifted right, and at time t2, the signal charge 60 are transferred beneath the electrode 40 and the charge 61 is transferred beneath the floating electrode 44 and stored, and they are read out externally from a terminal 51 via an amplifier 50.
