Abstract

1,107,545. Refrigerators. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. 3 March, 1966 [26 March, 1965], No. 9304/66. Addition to 1,084,681. Heading F4H. In a refrigerator cabinet having an outer shell 26 and an inner liner 40, the forward edges of the shell and liner are gripped by a U-section portion of a trim strip 24 which also has a paramagnetic portion 66 acting as a seat for a magnetic door seal 68. As illustrated the outer shell is made of sheet metal and the liner of plastics material and a flexible strip 56 is included between their forward edges. The cabinet insulation 34 may be foamed polyurethane and a non-adhesive agent 52 is provided between the insulation and the inner liner. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), both shell and liner are of plastics material and the strip 56 is omitted.
