Abstract

1,105,712. Ventilators. WILLIAM J. COX (SALES) Ltd. 14 Dec., 1966 [20 July, 1966], No. 32649/66. Heading F4V. [Also in Divisions E1R and E2A] A roof ventilator 26 is interposed between the light 1 (see Divisions E1-E2) and kerb 11. The ventilator has slidable ventilator panels 27 manipulated by control handle 28 and provided with a weather baffle 29 and a perforated insert or snow screen 33, the light being secured on the top of the ventilator and the ventilator being secured on the kerb by means of an inverted channel 34 for the entry of a channel section 23 engageable with an inverted channel section resilient metal clip 25 by shoulders 24 snapping over barbs on the limbs 23, the ends of the diverging limbs of clip 25 engaging with inwardly directed flanges 9 on the section 34. Each section 34 has a neoprene etc. sealing strip 8 between the resilient clip 25 itself and an up standing rib 10 to trap condensation water which flows away through drainage holes or at the mitred corners of the members 34. Trickle ventilation may be provided by short spaced sealing strips 8. Member 23 may be mounted directly on the kerb by internally located screws (Fig. 3). Aluminium plate 21 held by flange 20 covers the felt flashing 22 and flanges 16, 17 retain metal insulation container (18), Fig. 1. Flange 14 retains a roof-opening liner (15, Fig. 1).
