Abstract

1,032,917. Ventilators. R. A. SPENCE. Oct. 28, 1963 [Nov. 2, 1962], No. 42427/63. Heading F4V. A window construction includes a glazed panel located between upper and lower ventilating boxes, each having means for inhibiting entry of rainwater &c., and means for controlling air flow. As illustrated the upper box has an air entrance covered by parallel louvres 24 and an air exit controlled by a pivoted flap 29 having a spring-loaded ball 31 which engages depressions in the end of the box to retain the flap in a desired position. The lower box has parallel chevron section louvres 43 over its inlet. The boxes are sloped to drain water to the exterior and condensation from the glazing drains through openings 39 into the lower box.
