Roof facia strips 11 are secured to a girder 9 bolted to the upwardly, (as shown), or downwardly directed flange of an angle-section support member 7 by means of a clamping screw, e.g. 13, and interacting tapered flanges, e.g. 14 and 15 on the facia strips and girder respectively. The clamping screw may alternativelypass through a second, lower angle - section flange 19 on the facia strip, (Figs. 5, 6, not shown) and be received in a channel-section slot 15e on the underside of flange 15. The roofing layers may be tapered upwards towards the facia strips (Figs. 6-10, not shown), with a metal, (Figs 6-9) or plastics, (Fig. 10) sheet passing over the top of the girder 9. The facia strip then has a flange 11b sloping downwards inwardly of the roof, and spaced apart from the metal sheet by a tubular sealing strip, (Fig. 6), a screw, (Fig. 7), spring clip (Fig. 8) or wedges, (Fig 9). The facia strip may have a flange under the flange 14 carrying a flexible, upwardly extending rib 18 (Fig. 2, not shown) which engages the underside of flange 15. Flange 15 may have an undercut opening 20, 20a (Fig. 3, not shown), co-operating with a bifuracted barbed limb 21, 21b on flange 14. Alternatively flange 14 may be a simple, downwardly extending tapered flange, (Fig. 6, not shown).
