Carrying. - Consists of a pistol-carrying device comprising a slotted plate on the belt adapted to be engaged by a stud on the pistol, the slot being so shaped that the pistol must be turned through an angle before it can pass from one part of the slot to the other. In the construction shown in Fig. 2, the slot has two branches 3, 7 communicating with one another through an enlarged part 6 in which the flattened stud shank 12 can turn. Safety appliances; breech actions, sliding barrel and breech-block; breech actions, hinged breechblock.-Relates to safety devices of the kind in which a projection on a rotary spindle engages the sear, and consists in forming the sear with an inelined surface o for engagement by the projection m on the rotary spindle, so that, when the safety is applied, the sear j is forced into bent. Specifcations 4101/05 and 15838/15, [Class 92 (ii), Ordnance &c.], are referred to.
