Abstract

1,097,292. Load handling pallets. WOODKOR CORPORATION. May 20, 1965, No. 21493/65. Heading B8H. A pallet as shown in Fig. 1 comprises a base element 10 of a wood veneer core (13), Fig. 7 (not shown), between laminated sheets (14) of paper or thin wood veneer, with corrugations 15 and form-retaining means 11 to maintain it in normal planar disposition. The means 11 have hooks (18), Fig. 2 (not shown), to embrace opposite edges of the base element 10, the pallet being assembled by springing the base element 10 into the hooks (18), Fig. 3 (not shown). Fig. 5 shows a second embodiment which comprises a form-retaining means in the shape of a thin rectangular flat panel 12, with hook slots (23), Fig. 6 (not shown). Another form of form-retaining means comprises a series of rectangular pieces of wood 26, Fig. 9, anchored to transverse strips 24, 25. The base elements 10 and form-retaining means are nested, Figs. 4 and 8, respectively (not shown), pending assembly into pallets.
