Inverted V-ridges 1A at the tops of the posts 1 of a pallet for engagement with corresponding recesses 1B at the bottoms of the posts of a pallet above in a stack are arranged so that the ridges on adjacent posts are at right angles. The posts are preferably of tubing of rectangular, square or circular in section.
