1,096,550. Movement indicators. INVENTIO A. G. Oct.10, 1966 [Oct. 8, 1965], No.45153/66. Heading G1K. A device for indicating movement of a rotary shaft 2 enclosed in a housing 1 comprises a magnet 3 attached to the shaft 2 and arranged with its poles 3À1, 3À2 disposed asymmetrically with respect to the axis of the shaft 2, and a magnetizable member 6 arranged in such a way outside the housing 1 that by magnetic attraction, rotation of the shaft causes rotation of the member 6. The member 6 which is provided with a rotation indicating mark 6À2 may be a ring which is mounted loosely on a cylindrical projection 5À2 on the housing 1 and is caused to rotate about the projection 5À2 by an amount depending on the rotation of the shaft 2 and the looseness of fit of the ring on the projection 5À2. Alternatively, the member 6 may be of cap shape and arranged to be rotatable within an annular recess or on a cylindrical projection Figs.9 and 10 (not shown) or the member 6 may be in the form of a swash plate (17) Fig. 11 (not shown) which is rotatable on a flat or conical surface of the housing 1. As a further alternative, the member 6 may be in the form of a cone (24) Fig. 12 (not shown) and arranged to be rotatable on a flat surface of the housing.
