Abstract

[Also in Division H3] A tuner for a television receiver comprises a housing containing rotary capacitors tuning U.H.F. resonant lines in a plurality of chambers and a potentiometer in another chamber for tuning the V.H.F. circuits, the capacitors and potentiometer being on the same or coupled shafts. The potentiometer (Fig. 2) has 180 degrees of conductive track 16 and two 90 degrees resistive tracks 14, 15 which are traversed successively by a slider 10 electrically connected to the slider on the conductive track. The two resistance tracks are electrically in parallel with one another. On the other side of the insulating block 20 a third slider (11, Fig. 3, not shown), moves over successive conducting tracks to effect switching.
