Abstract

109,058. Crook, J. H., and Crook, J. E. Aug. 23, 1916, [Convention date]. Hinges and pivots; double and multiple hinges.-The hinges at one side of sliding window sashes are provided with screwed bosses 15, Fig. 3, which engage screwed rods 9 for raising or lowering the sashes. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also other means for hinging sliding sashes and casements. The portions 7 of the hinges 8, Fig. 6 (cancelled), i slide in metal guides fitted in grooves in the frame style for sliding sashes. Casement windows are hinged by double-knuckle hinges 21, Fig. 9 (cancelled); when the screw 25 is removed, the opened window can be swung on the joint 22. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
