Abstract
108,899. Cocks, A. G. Aug. 26, 1916. Vaporizers, external.-In vaporizers in which exhaust gases are introduced into the mixture of paraffin and air issuing from the carburettor at a point between the carburettor and the cylinder, a gauze partition is arranged in the induction pipes so that the blast of exhaust gases impinges directly upon it, without being previously diverted in its course. The exhaust gases are led into the induction pipe e by a pipe d<1> projecting into the induction pipe, and issue through holes d<3> in the sides of the pipe. Gauze partitions, such as cones a, with their points in the holes d<3>, are arranged in the induction pipe to be heated by the exhaust gases. The mixture of fuel and air passes from the carburettor c through a gauze partition c<1>. The paraffin feed-pipe b is coiled around the exhaust valve or other suitable part to warm the fuel.
