Abstract

1,088,666. Fuel injectors. R, A, LISTER & CO, Ltd. March 9, 1965 [March 9, 1964], No. 9878/64. Heading F1B. In a fuel injector having a single permanently unobstructed orifice 11, the thickness of the wall through which the orifice extends is substantially greater than the length of the orifice 11 the outer end of which opens into a circular recess 13. The ratio of the length of the orifice 11 and its diameter lies between 0.5 and 1À5 and the ratio of the maximum diameter of the recess 13 to the diameter of orifice 11 lies between 2 and 6. The recess 13 may be conical.
