Abstract

1302017 Fuel injectors ALLIS-CHALMERS MFG CO 3 Dec 1970 [4 Dec 1969] 57511/70 Heading F1B A fuel injection nozzle comprises an elongated nozzle tip 10 having a diameter, which is less than one third of its length, no greater than the diameter of a differential needle valve 33 which engages a seat spaced from the tip so that the fuel delivery passage within the tip is entirely free. The nozzle is mounted in a cylinder head with the elongated tip accommodated in a closely surrounding bore in a cylinder head which is thick enough to provide a heat shield. Fuel enters chamber 27 via duct 26 and lifts the needle valve against an adjustably loadable spring 15.
