Abstract

1,086,823. Stripping ribbon cables. SUMITOMO ELECTRIC INDUSTRIES Ltd. Feb. 10, 1965 [Feb. 26, 1964], No. 5763/65. Heading H1A. To facilitate stripping, a ribbon cable is provided with a region 3, at which the upper insulating film does not adhere to the lower, and a metal cutting tape 4 which, when pulled, cuts the upper insulating layer at right-angles to the cable length. Such stripping arrangements may be provided both on the upper and lower sides of the conductors and may be provided separately. The region may be produced by quick-drying ink, by paint or by " Cellophane " (Registered Trade Mark).
