Abstract

1,084,795. Ejectors. JOSEPH KAYE & CO. Inc. Sept. 11, 1964 [Sept. 13, 1963], No. 37321/64. Heading F1E. [Also in Division F4] An ejector 100 for compressing a refrigerant vapour comprises a tube 101 having a convergent section 112, a constant area section 114 and a divergent section 116, a first nozzle 104 having a converging-diverging internal flow path and an annular second nozzle 107, a pump being provided for supplying a liquid refrigerant stream to one of the nozzles. As shown the pump 14 supplies liquid to nozzle 104 and nozzle 107 is connected to a refrigerant evaporator by line 16 in which a vapour compressor may be provided. Operating condition and dimensions are specified.
