Abstract

1,084,581. Jig washers. SCHUCHTER-MANN & KREMER-BAUM, A.G. FUR AUFBEREITUNG. March 25, 1965 [Nov. 12,1964], No. 12776/65. Addition to 992,728. Heading B2H. A jig washer having pulsation air chambers 3 below a screen 2 is provided with a float 20 which, when the supply of material stops, operates to open a flap valve 12 in the blowoff pipe 10 in the compressed air line 7 to the chambers and to close a throttling valve 18 in the water supply pipe 17. The float 20 operates through magnetic switches 22, 23, a control device 21 which, when the float sinks, operates motors 19 and 15 so as to close the water throttling valve 18 and open the flap valve 12 which is connected by a link 14 to simultaneously close a throttling valve 9 in the exhaust line 8 from air control valves 5. Such an arrangement maintains a back pressure in the chambers 3 so that flooding of the air spaces is prevented. The angle of the throttling valve 9 may be adjusted. A throttle setting valve 11 is provided and adjusted by hand so that when the flap valve 12 is opened, a portion of the compressed air escapes, a low pressure being maintained in the chambers 3. Instead of a single throttling valve 9 being connected by linkage to the flap valve 12, several throttling valves 16 provided at the outlets of the air control valves may be so connected to the flap valve.
