Abstract

1,082,544. Rocking chairs. S. LIED. Nov. 26, 1964, No. 48091/64. Headings A4J and A4U. A rocking chair has a seat B rockably supported by a pivot pin H on a chair frame having legs D and one or more flat springs A are fixed to the seat B at C and to the front transverse member E of the chair frame by a stirrup-like spring adjustor E. The front ends D of the springs A engage the stirrup-like adjustor E. A wing nut G threadingly engages a shank of the adjustor E to adjust the tension in the spring A. The seat B is locked by an arm K having a series of slots L co-operating with a stud M mounted on the chair.
