Abstract

838,665. Seats. DARE-INGLIS PRODUCTS Ltd. Aug. 13. 1958 [Oct. 24, 1957], No. 33304/57. Class 52(2) A chair with a vertically adjustable back rest 3 has secured to the seat portion 1 an upstanding U-shaped tubular stem 2 which is embraced by a slide 4 slidable thereon and secured to the back rest 3, the opposite walls of slide 4 carrying rotatably a horizontal rod 6 on which are mounted a pair of cams 7, 8 rotatable in or out of contact with stem 2. The cams are connected by a lever 9 and a spring 11 encircling the rod 6 urges the cams into the locking position. A cover plate, not shown, is secured to a bracket 13. Stops to limit the upward or downward movement of the bracket may be provided.
