The frame for a sashless horizontally sliding door or window glass panel 11 which slides relatively to another fixed or movable panel 12 in the same or another parallel plane comprises a top double channel section 10 to receive the top unframed edges of the panels 11, 12; a bottom flat box shaped section 14 with two upwardly projecting rails 15, 16 on which run bottom rails 35 fitted with rollers 34 and carry the panels 11, 12, and channel shaped side members with their mouths directed outwards of the frame, these frame members being square cut to length and assembled with butt joints, the members of each joint being secured together by self-tapping screws passing through neoprene gaskets between the side members and the top or bottom members of the frame. The bottom member 14 is reinforced by a section 78 fitted in a bore at the bottom of a rail track 14 and water drainage holes 78, 79, 80 are provided in the web of section 78 and the top and bottom of the bottom member 14. Channel members with their mouths facing inwardly of the frame and lined with flexible strips receive the adjacent vertical edges of the panels in the closed position and the inner meeting vertical sides of the panels have interengaging sealing members in the closed position (Fig. 3A). A screw operated anti-vibration locking device is provided (60- 66, Fig. 3A). Wool pile seals 52 guide the tops of the panels and rubber blocks 53 prevent the panels from leaving the rails. The construction of the bottom rail 35 is illustrated, (Fig. 5).
