Abstract

691,058. Folding and sliding doors. TEMPLEX HOLDINGS, Ltd. May 30, 1951 [March 3, 1950; March 3, 1950], Nos. 5452/50 and 5453/50. Class 20(iii) [Also in Group XXV] A folding and sliding door comprises a series of pillars P which move in guides at their upper ends and are mounted on rollers C in a track T, and a number of panels L which are hinged together at H .and to the pillars P at B, the pillars being formed of box-section members, Fig. 4, preferably formed of a pair of channel sections 30, 31 having front and back plates 50, 40 riveted to them, one side of the boxsection providing jamb surfaces 52, 53 for the door panels and having a vertical web 51 to which the panels H are hinged. Each panel has two uprights 70, 71 interconnected by transverse and diagonal T-section members, sealing strips 72, 79 being carried for engagement respectively with the jamb surfaces and the uprights of adjacent panels. Face sheets 76, 76<SP>1</SP> corrugated along their vertical edges are riveted to flanges 74 on the uprights, the space between the sheets preferably being filled with an insulating material, e.g. glass wool. The panels are connected together bv hinges, Fig. 7 (see Group XXV, the parts 90, 90<SP>1</SP> being adjustably spaced from each other by a screw 100 and a lock nut 101.
