Abstract
D-Glucosaccharo-1,4-lactone is prepared by seeding crystals of the lactone into an aqueous solution of pure D-glucosaccharic acid and crystallizing the lactone from said aqueous solution having a specific gravity of 1.300-1.360. D-Glucosaccharic acid is obtained as a pure aqueous solution by treating a water suspension of mono-potassium D-glucosaccharate with a cation exchange resin.
