Abstract

Trigonal pyramid crystals of L-glutamic acid are obtained from a fermentation broth by adding trigonal pyramid type seed crystals of L-glutamic acid to a saturated aqueous L-glutamic acid solution having a pH of 3.2 and feeding said solution with the fermentation broth and a strong mineral acid with agitation whilst keeping the pH of said solution at 3.2.
