A container is formed with a laminated end wall in which an outer rigid sheet (1), Fig. 3, has one or more holes H or is of gas-pervious material, and an inner elastic sheet (2) is joined at its edges to the outer sheet (1), the construction enabling variations in the volume of the container contents to take place without the outer wall of the container being deformed. The inner sheet (2) is impermeable to the fluid contents of the container. The outer sheet may be of metal. The laminated end wall may have a central domed portion, or it may be corrugated, Figs. 4b-4c; or the sheet (2) only may be corrugated, Fig. 4d (not shown).
