Abstract

862,424. Portable containers. STAR ALUMINIUM CO. Ltd. Oct. 3, 1957 [Oct.. 5, 1956], No. 30378/56. Class 66. A container comprises an open-topped body of metal foil, the bottom of the body having a wall member of dimpled form, the projections 13 of which transmit heat from an external source directly or indirectly to the container contents. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown) the dimpled portion is raised above the lower edge of the container walls 10 so forming a channel between the outer projections and the lower edge of the walls, and a plate member rests on the projections. Alternatively, Fig. 3, the container base is flat and underlies a member 17 of dimpled form. The container is of aluminium or aluminium alloy foil of a thickness between 0À001 inches and 0À01 inches, and the projections 13 are between 0À0625 inches and 0À375 inches high. A cover of aluminium foil, extending over the outer edge of the flange 16, may be fitted. Specification 30377/56 is referred to.
