Abstract

1,255,547. Portable containers. D. G. BOURGEOIS. 4 March, 1970 [28 April, 1969], No. 21594/69. Heading B8D. A collapsible sheet polyethylene container 1 is provided with a partially or wholly inflatable roof 2 having an aperture 3 so that when the container is filled with liquid through the aperture, the roof floats on the surface and erects the container. The container is provided with an inflation valve 8 and a draw-off tap 5. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the roof is formed with an inflatable toroid by welding an annular strip 9 at its edges to a single sheet roof. The container wall may be provided with calibrated markings to indicate the quantity of the liquid contents. The aperture may be closed by a plug or flap, and the container could be circular.
