The composite container of the parent specification has a sheet 81, Fig. 1, of relatively stiff material inserted between the bottom of the bag 2 and the outer U-shaped stiffener 1, when the container is erected, to provide it with a flat bottom. A cutout 10 (Fig. 2, not shown) in the base panel 6 of the shell is provided to assist in the insertion of the strip 81.
