Abstract

1,074,617. Medical syringes. P. D. COOK. April 7, 1966 [April 5, 1965], No. 14285/65. Heading A5R. [Also in Division F2] A micrometer screw syringe is acuated by mechanism comprising a rachet wheel 3 secured to a micrometer head 1 which is coupled to the syringe piston and a pawl 9 mounted on the end of a push rod 8 which is engaged by a cable release 11. Depression of a button 10 on the end of the inner cable of the cable release 11 causes movement of the push rod 8 towards the left, as shown in Fig. 1, to effect an increment of rotation of the micrometer head 1. A spring effects the return movement of the push rod 8 and cable. The stroke may be varied by screwing a barrel 12 of the actuating mechanism with respect to a fixed screw-threaded sleeve 13.
