Abstract

1,074,050. Circulators. MELABS. Nov. 26, 1964 [Nov. 29, 1963], No. 48086/64. Heading H1W. A circulator for U.H.F. operation comprises coils mutually coupled to each other through a polarized ferrite element together with capacitors for effecting impedance matching. The Y-circulator shown comprises three coaxial terminals 18, 19, 21 whose inner conductors are connected through series capacitors 36, 37, 38 to coils 41, 42, 43 arranged around an axially polarized ferrite disc 46. The ends of the coils meet in a Y connection. The series L.C. circuits thus formed provide matching between the transmission lines and the circulator. The elements are enclosed between two ground planes and a side wall 60. Modifications include the use of delta connection for the coils, use of parallel instead of series tuned matching circuits and use of double-tuned circuits.
