Abstract
863,879. Coupling circuits. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Nov. 6, 1957 [Nov. 9, 1956], No. 34611/57. Class 40(8) A non-reciprocal electric coupling device comprises two planar windings 1, 2 crossing at right angles and surrounding a common core 3 of high frequency magnetic material such as ferrite which is pre-polarized in a direction parallel to the intersecting line of the planes of the windings, an external electric coupling being provided between the windings, and the pre-polarizing field having a strength such that the high frequency material is in magnetic resonance for a given frequency and the external coupling is purely reactive and has a value such that the coupling factor is nil in one direction for send frequency. If the load impedance Zu is the complex conjugate of the internal impedance of the coupling device, the transmission output is stated to be unity. In the practical embodiment of Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown) coaxial lines are coupled by asymmetrical Lecher lines having a common base on a ferrite core.
