Abstract

1,249,823. Waveguides. PYE Ltd. 29 July, 1969, No. 38053/69. Heading H1W. A wide-band, high-frequency, inductive power splitter comprises a double-apertured ferrite core 1 located in slots provided in a circuit board 21. The splitter is of the kind (Fig. 1, not shown) in which a pair of leads connecting a common input 6 to a pair of outputs 7, 8 pass in opposite directions through both apertures 2, 3 of the core 1 in turn. The leads are printed on both sides of circuit board 21 which has projections 25, 26 extending through the apertures and serving to locate the core. Input 6 is connected to printed leads 28, 30, output 8 to lead 36, and output 7 to lead 32, conductive connections (not shown) through the thickness of the board being provided where appropriate. The circuit is completed by conductors 38, 39 bridging the ends respectively of the pairs of conductors 28, 32 and 30, 36. Wide band matching may be improved by connecting between the two paths in the manner shown a resistor 40 and capacitor 41 in series. The terminals 6, 7, 8 may be the inner sockets of coaxial connectors.
