Abstract

1,066,332. Roofing tiles. MARLEY TILE CO. Ltd. May 4, 1964 [May 13, 1963], No. 18854/63. Heading E1B. A rectangular roofing tile having a head rib 12 engaging a roof batten, and tail ribs 10 engaging a tile in the next course, has interlocking channels and ribs along its side edges and is of trough form so that the base of the channels is higher than the upper surface of the trough to minimise leakage. Lateral clearance between the ribs and channels is provided to allow sideways adjustment. A strip of impregnated foam plastics may be inserted between the ribs 10 to provide a seal. The tail of each tile can be fixed by a clip nailed to the back of the adjacent roof batten.
