Abstract

1,065,929. Gas burners. JUNKERS & CO. G.m.b.H. Dec. 7, 1965 [Dec. 12, 1964], No. 51736/65. Heading F4T. In a grid shaped burner comprising a series of parallel burners (11) mounted on a distribution pipe 10 each burner has a distribution chamber 15 supplying gas to jets 12 and two expansion chambers 18 supplying gas to outlet slots 21 flanking the jets 12, and two further outlets 25, 26 are provided in each side wall 19 of each burner to form a flame bridge for successively igniting adjacent burners of the grid. The outlets 25 are fed from the distribution chamber 15 and the other outlets 26 are fed from the expansion chambers 18. The outlets 25, 26 are arranged above the vertex line of the distribution pipe 10. The expansion chambers 18 are formed by cover strips 20 positioned against the side walls 19 to cover recesses therein. The jets 12 are disposed along a ridge 14 and form butterfly flames. At least one burner is ignited by a pilot burner (23). Each burner is formed from sheet metal by stamping, folding and connecting the edges together.
