Abstract

The invention of the parent Specification is adapted to a flat card wherein dust and fibrous impurities are pneumatically withdrawn by suction through slits in the swift casing positioned between the licker-in and the flats and above the doffer. The slits extend over the axial length of the swift, they are adjustable in width, and adjustable mate knives are mounted therein. A duct connected to each slit leads to a single exhaust device.
