Abstract

1,056,217. Brushes. OSBORN MANUFACTURING CO. March 23, 1965 [Oct. 16, 1964], No. 12279/65. Heading A4K. The brush material 3 of an annular rotary brush is uniformly distributed between an annular radially outwardly opening channel 2, and a retaining ring 10, and is prevented from shifting circumferentially of the brush by sharp edged projections P struck up from the lower portion of the channel 2 into the brush material 3 after it has been tightly packed in place. The brush material may be doubled about itself so as to comprise several tufts. Two retaining rings 10 may be used in one channel 2 with brush material 3 doubled about each one. The brush material may comprise horsehair, tampico fibre, crimped wire, nylon, plastic coated wire, and plastic coated glass fibre strands.
