Abstract

962,502. Brushes. NATIONAL AIRCRAFT CORPORATION. April 3, 1962, No. 12724/62. Heading A4K. In a rotary street sweeper brush, bristle carrying rings, which are die-pressed into a zig-zag form, are mounted so that the crests of opposing undulations are in contact and spacing rings can accordingly be dispensed with. The ring carrying drum 1 is made in three sections 2, 2<SP>1</SP>, 2<SP>11</SP> having welded flanges 3 and channels 20 welded over them. The six contact faces of each ring 5, at the crest of each undulation, are flattened and three of them have inner keying notches to engage channels 20. The bristles 6 may be of crimped, straight spiral or plastic coated wire or of specified natural or synthetic fibre. The rings may alternatively be mounted in nesting relationship with the crests engaging the troughs. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 877,427 and 878,250.
