1291986 Bristles for brushes E I DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO 25 Nov 1969 [19 Dec 1968] 57714/69 Heading A4K [Also in Division B5] A brush has bristles of poly/butylene-1, -4- terephthalate) which are made by extruding, drawing 3À5 to 5À0 times and heat setting while allowing to relax in length a filament of the polymer, cutting the filaments into bristles, tipping the bristles followed by flagging so that at least 50% of the bristles have 4-10 flags per tip or microflagging the bristles so that at least 50% of the bristles have 10-20 flags per tip. The filament may be formed with points of maximum and.minimum diameter, the filament being cut at these points to form a tapered bristle.
