A brush comprises a cylindrical core 1 with clusters of natural fibre bristles 2 affixed to its surface and at least one row of clusters of thin metal wire bristles 3 or at least one row of clusters of a mixture of natural fibre bristles and metal wire bristles, the wire bristles being of the same size as the natural fibre bristles. The rows of metal or metal and fibre bristles may be disposed parallel to, or helically with respect to the rotational axis of the core 1.
