Abstract

1,053,710. Selective printing. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. Dec. 8, 1964 [Dec. 9, 1963], No. 49833/64. Heading B6F. In a high-speed continuously rotating printer the type drum 1 is wiped by a coated felt roller 5 which is driven at a speed which can be varied relative to that of the drum 1. The shaft 2 drives the drum and a pulley 18 and a belt 16 drives a variable gear 15 adjustable in steps or continuously by knob 17. The felt roller 5 is biased by springs 9, 10 against a steel intermediate roller 4 in contact with a rubber roller 3 transferring ink to the drum 1. There is no drive to the intermediate rollers 3, 4, but to avoid slip they may be geared to the drum 1.
