Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a printing mechanism having the construction simplified more than an ink-ribbon system and assuring an easy maintenance for determining a diameter ratio of an ink roller to a printing drum so that the ink can be applied to the characters on the printing drum by utilizing the full circumferential face of the ink roller.
CONSTITUTION: The diameter of an ink roller 2 is determined so that the peripheral surface of an ink pad 2b can be contacted by the characters on a printing drum 1. The printing drum 1 is rotated normally regardless of the operation of a hammer lever 5, the ink roller 2 is operated in response to the rotation in a press contact with a wire spring 4, and the printing can be normally made possible by continuously applying the ink onto the characters on the drum 1. According to such a construction, the life of the device is extended longer without a fear of a local wear-out and damage of the ink pad 2b and the unevenness in the printing can be prevented.
