Abstract

The tin-containing, aluminium-base alloys of the parent Specification are heated at an elevated temperature, such as 600-640 DEG C for from 15 minutes to 24 hours, to ensure maximum dissolution of the tin in the aluminium, and are then rapidly cooled, e.g. by quenching in water at ambient temperature, to retain the tin in solid solution to the maximum degree.
