Abstract

1,037,118. Window operating mechanism. W. PUTSCH, L. PUTSCH, F. W. PUTSCH and U. PUTSCH [trading as FRITZ KEIPER]. July 10, 1964 [Dec. 23, 1963], No. 28615/64. Heading E2M. A window control device comprises a base plate 10 carrying a rotatable pinion 25 in engagement with a gear segment 13 pivoted at 14 to the base plate 10, and a lever 20 slidably mounted through slots in extensions 18 of segment 13, the end 21 of this arm being attached to the window and the other end 22 pivoted to a guide link 23 which in turn is pivoted to the base plate at 24, the length of the guide link and lever, and the distance between pivots 24, 14 being such that the end 21 of lever 20 moves substantially in a straight line upon rotation of the pinion 25. In a modification (Fig. 3 not shown) the link 23 is dispensed with, the end 22 of lever 20 being pivoted to the segment 13 and the lever having a longitudinal slot allowing the lever to move longitudinally with respect to the pivot 14. The mechanism may be actuated by a motor or by hand.
