Abstract

282,472. Cousinard, A. Dec. 22, 1926, [Convention date]. Vehicle-window opening and closing apparatus. -A window regulator comprising a mechanical device for giving a straight-line movement to a point and consisting of a stud 12 in the end of a link 9, the other end of which is guided by a stud in a linear slot 11 and the middle point of which is connected by a radius-rod 7 to a pivot 6 in line with the slot, is characterized by a detachable spring-controlled member 39 retaining the stud 12 in the hook-shaped attachment 30. The actuating means comprises an arc-shaped member 16 riveted to a pivoted right-angled piece 15 and driven by pinion 17 and handle 19. The link 20 connects the arc 16 and radius-rod 7, the pivots 6, 13, 21, 22 forming the vertices of a parallelogram. Balancing springs 25 for the weight of the sash are connected to the member 15. The faces of the hook and retaining member are inclined to allow the stud to be introduced into the recess by pressure. Modified actuating means comprises a lever 40 rigidly connected to the lever 7, Fig. 2. A braking device may be combined with the crank 19.
