Abstract

1,035,531. Road scarifiers. EDDISON PLANT Ltd. Nov. 8, 1962 [Aug. 9, 1961], No. 28709/61. Heading E1G. A holder 6 for one or more scarifying tines 7 is pivotally mounted on a bar 4 carried by a side plate 3 of a road roller 2. Means for moving the holder between a carrying position shown in full line and a working position shown in broken line comprise a link 12 pivoted at 11 to a side plate 9 of the holder and at 13 to a member 14 secured to the shaft 15 of a hand wheel 16. The shaft is mounted in the plate 3. The holder is retained in the carrying position by engagement of a locking roller 19, carried by a link 18 also pivoted on the member 14, under a projection 21 on the link 12. To lower the holder to the working position the roller 19 is disengaged from the projection 21 and the wheel 16 rotated clockwise bringing the link 12 to the broken line position. The roller 19 is swung under the free end of the plate 9 which is then lowered to bring a notch 20 into engagement with the roller 19.
